England star suffers potential injury during Mexico win celebrations
England suffered some bad luck during their celebrations after their World Cup Round of 16 victory over Mexico.
The Three Lions produced one of their greatest World Cup performances, beating Mexico 3-2 at the Estadio Azteca.
They dealt with the heat, altitude, and atmosphere, and played most of the second half with 10 men to seal the victory.
The only bad news was that one England player appeared to suffer a nasty injury in the post-match celebrations.
How England’s Mexico celebrations turned into an injury scare
Jordan Henderson unfortunately suffered an injury during England’s celebrations after beating Mexico at the Estadio Azteca.
The former Liverpool midfielder tripped as he was climbing over the advertising boards and landed awkwardly on his arm.
He then had to be stretchered off the pitch, as many England players surrounded him to see whether he was okay.
Jude Bellingham explained in his interview with the BBC that Henderson was in “a bit of bother” following the incident.
However, neither Bellingham nor Harry Kane seemed overly concerned that Henderson had done too much damage.
It would appear likely that Henderson will miss England’s quarter-final against Norway on Saturday night.
Thankfully, central midfield is not an area of weakness for England, with Kobbie Mainoo also on the bench.
