Ex-Eagles player pleads with fans: ‘Stop stalking your ex!’

It has been nearly two months since the Eagles traded A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots, but not all Eagles fans are ready to move on from their former star wide receiver.

On social media, a video showed Patriots All-Pro cornerback Christian Gonzalez locking down Brown during a one-on-one rep. Eagles fans made fun of Brown in the comments and with quote tweets. Here are some of those posts.

“Zero separation.”

“Get used to the drops.”

“AJ hasn’t separated from a CB since Dune 2 was in theatres.”

There are too many comments to list them all, but Eagles fans were happy to see Brown not make the catch.

That reaction annoyed former Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho.

“Eagles fans, I’m begging you to stop stalking your ex,” Acho said on his “Speakeasy” podcast on Monday. “Stop stalking A.J. Brown. Mute his Instagram stories, block him if you have to. ...

“A.J. Brown is running on his back shoulder. And you want him to separate on Christian Gonzalez getting pressed. How are you going to separate on that? Like they’re throwing back shoulder. What do you want him to do? You’re stalking your ex, seeing that he’s in a new relationship. And you’re like, ‘I told you she’s ugly. I told you she’s put on some weight. I told you she don’t even look good.’

“Look forward to what you got. Makai Lemon, Hollywood Brown, [Dontayvion] Wicks. Stop worrying about what A.J. Brown out there doing.”

When the Eagles face the Patriots this summer in joint practices, Brown will be under scrutiny from Eagles fans. Every mistake he makes during those two days will be ripped.

Acho hopes that doesn’t happen.
