Falcons RB Bijan Robinson comments on James Pearce Jr. situation

The Atlanta Falcons are still dealing with the aftermath of James Pearce Jr.'s offseason arrest. The former first-round pick is facing three felony charges due to a stalking incident involving his ex-girlfriend. As expected, Pearce did not appear at the team's voluntary workouts.

"I will tell you guys that James Pearce is not here," said Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski. "We've been in constant communication with his representation."

Stefanski failed to provide much context and the team has said very little regarding Pearce's arrest and potential future in Atlanta. The expectation is that the NFL will suspend Pearce once his legal troubles are sorted out.

Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was asked about Pearce during his Wednesday press conference. Robinson said he hasn't spoken to Pearce since the incident, but that he's praying for his teammate.

"I'm praying for my brother," Robinson said of Pearce. "He's my teammate, I know the coaches have a plan and everything. If he's here in the building, I'm gonna make sure he's all the way focused, all the way ready to go."

Robinson was practically oozing excitement for the upcoming season and sounds like he's itching to get to work.

"I really feel like this is the best I've felt in my whole time being here," said Robinson. "Last year was a cool year, but this year I want to be even better."

The dual-threat back topped 2,000 all-purpose yards in 2025, and he's only just getting started. Over his first three NFL seasons, Robinson has rushed for 3,910 yards and 25 touchdowns, while adding 198 receptions for 1,738 receiving yards.

The Falcons let Robinson's backup, Tyler Allgeier, walk in free agency, but they signed veteran Brian Robinson Jr. as a replacement. Bijan praised both his former and current backfield mates.

"I'm very happy for him and what he's about to do in Arizona," Robinson said of Allgeier's new contact with the Cardinals.
