Following today’s latest CPI figures, Kevin Warsh – the new Federal Reserve chair – will face House lawmakers on the financial services committee at 10am ET. This comes ahead of the central bank’s policy meeting at the end of July, where we can expect an interest-rate cut decision.
At the same time, supreme court justices Elena Kagan and Amy Coney Barratt will appear at a House appropriations committee hearing to discuss the budget request for the court in the upcoming fiscal year. This will be the first time sitting members of the bench have sat before Congress since 2019.
