The Los Angeles Rams opted not to bring back Troy Reeder this offseason after his contract expired, and until now, he had remained an unrestricted free agent. But on Monday, his agency, EnterSports Management, announced that Reeder has agreed to terms on a deal with the Detroit Lions.

He now joins Dan Campbell’s squad where he’ll compete for playing time on special teams, and potentially on defense if Detroit is looking for help at linebacker. Reeder was a polarizing player for the Rams, starting 38 games across six seasons. He had some clear limitations, but the coaching staff loved his knowledge of the defense and kept him as a special teamer last season.

In six seasons with the Rams, which spanned 2019-2021 and 2023-2025, he won one Super Bowl, recorded 324 tackles, five sacks and two interceptions. His best season was in 2021 when he had 91 tackles and six tackles for a loss in 17 games (10 starts) and played all four postseason games en route to winning the Super Bowl.
