Fryers cruises into 51kg quarter-finals
Team NI boxer Caitlin Fryers is one win from securing a medal after beating Zinnat Ferdous in their flyweight round of 16 bout on Monday morning.
The Immaculata fighter, who is co-captain of the Team NI boxing squad, dominated the fight from the first bell against her Bangladeshi opponent at the SEC Centre.
Ferdous' efforts were further undermined when she was docked a point in the second round for persistent holding.
Fryers, who won a European silver medal in 2022, will face the winner of Monday evening's clash between India's Sakshi Chaudhary and Botswana's Lethabo Modukanele in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
