Bourrage still played in 24 games at LSU, including appearing for 10 minutes in the Tigers' 116-58 first-round victory against Jacksonville State in the NCAA tournament when the 5-11 guard had one point, two rebounds, one assist and one steal. Bourrage ended up averaging 2.1 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game for the entire 2025-26 season and did not travel to LSU's Sweet 16 game, a season-ending 87-85 loss to Duke at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif, while in concussion protocol.

The Illini have already seen a more confident Bourrage since her arrival on campus as an offseason transfer. That Bourrage is close friends with Illinois starting sophomore point guard from their AAU days has eased that transition. Now, the Illini will get the chance to unlock what made Bourrage a consensus five-star, top-15 recruit, according to most recruiting services (ESPN, On3/Rivals and 247Sports included) in the Class of 2025. "Her length, ability to score at all three levels, and her ability to defend and play multiple positions will help us tremendously," Green said when the Illini announced they had signed the LSU transfer on April 9. Developing players has been a key strength of Green, and Bourrage is the latest project with the Illinois coaching staff also recruiting her heavily in high school, as well, before circling back to her in the portal.
