How former Tennessee players fared in 2026 NBA Summer League, including Nate Ament

Eleven former Tennessee basketball players spread out across nine NBA rosters for the 2026 NBA Las Vegas Summer League, and it was Jahmai Mashack who got the deepest run of the bunch, helping the Memphis Grizzlies reach the championship game.

The Golden State Warriors erased a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat Mashack and the Grizzlies 94-90 on July 19 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Three of the 11 Vols played for the San Antonio Spurs: Ja'Kobi Gillespie, Igor Milicic Jr. and Zakai Zeigler. The rest were Nate Ament (Milwaukee Bucks), Kennedy Chandler (Chicago Bulls), Keon Johnson (Orlando Magic), Tyreke Key (Toronto Raptors), Chaz Lanier (Detroit Pistons), Felix Okpara (Washington Wizards), Jaden Springer (Dallas Mavericks) and Mashack.

Each player logged at least four games in Las Vegas. Lanier led the group in scoring at 17.4 points per game, Gillespie led in assists at 4.3 per game, and Milicic grabbed the most rebounds with seven per game.

Ament, whose selection at No. 13 overall makes him the highest draft pick of coach Rick Barnes' tenure at Tennessee, averaged 11.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists on 50% shooting in 23.4 minutes.
