It took a while for Patrick Sandoval to make his Boston Red Sox debut.
On Thursday, it finally arrived, in Chicago against the White Sox -- and Sandoval looked good.
The left-hander gave the Red Sox a chance to win, and that's all Boston can ask for.

What to know about Patrick Sandoval
Sandoval is a 6-foot-3 lefty who was an 11th-round pick in 2015 by the Astros out of Mission Viejo High School.
He had a career 4.01 ERA in 107 MLB appearances (100 starts) with the Los Angeles Angels.
His last healthy season in the majors was 16 starts in 2024, when he had a 5.08 ERA.
Sandoval's best campaign was a 2.91 ERA in 27 starts in 2022.
Now, he's going to try and make an impact with the Red Sox.
