How to get tickets for ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in OKC
The Oklahoma City Whitewater Center will host canoe slalom in the 2028 Summer Olympics in just a couple of years, but before then, it will host the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in just a few days.
The seven-day tournament begins on Saturday, July 18, with the opening ceremony. Events begin on Monday, July 20 and last until Saturday, July 25.
Riversport season ticket-holders get free entrance to daily events, but non members can get in daily for as little as $6, $12 if looking for a premier viewing of the action.
The championships also offer three-day and all-day passes. Three-day passes cost $14.50 for general admission and $30 for prime view, while all-day passes range from $26 to $56.
Here's the tournament schedule and how to purchase tickets for the events.
How to buy tickets for ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships
Tickets for the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships are for sale on the tournament's official website. Tickets start at $6 for single-day general admission passes.
Beyond the competition, ticketholders can experience the World Festival, food and live entertainment daily.
What are the three categories in the competition
Three events will take place across the six days of championships: Canoe slalom, kayak slalom and kayak cross.
Here's what each entails, as described on the championship's website.
- Canoe slalom: Athletes kneel in single-bladed canoes, navigating a whitewater course through downstream and upstream gates with precision and speed.
- Kayak slalom: Paddlers sit in kayaks using double-bladed paddles to race a whitewater course, maneuvering cleanly through challenging gate sequences.
- Kayak cross: Four kayakers launch from an elevated ramp, battling head-to-head through gates and a required mid-course roll in an all-out sprint to the finish.
