Sebastian Fundora spends some time talking to Fight Hub TV and breaks down his impressions on the recent super welterweight title fight between Boots Ennis vs Xander Zayas, his own career plans, and how he thinks an upcoming fight between Errol Spence vs Tim Tszyu plays out. Here’s some excerpts of what he had to say below.

Fundora on Boots vs Zayas

“It was entertaining. From what I saw, I didn’t watch the whole fight because, you know, DAZN was having technical difficulties…but from what I saw it looked competitive until it wasn’t, of course. But that was a good fight from both of them…I think a fight between me and [Boots] would be a great fight.”

On plans for him to defend his title before seeking any potential unification with Boots

“If they have us up on the the stage later on, we’ll be talking about that more. I’m not one to talk that much, really. One day it looked like we were fighting him, which sounded good to me, then the next day everybody was calling us things like negative things…that’s boxing. It is what it is. Look at the last guy we fought, Thurman. [He] talked a lot of stuff and we saw the end result for that. But until we sign that contract or anything becomes of it, we’ll let you know.”

On how he thinks he would matchup with Boots

“I think I can beat him in both ways. I can outbox him and I can bang, for sure. ‘Cause we know how Xander fights, good boxer, great boxer, smart boxer, but he’s a boxer. He doesn’t like to bang. [Xander’s] the bigger guy but that’s not something he’s comfortable with. You see the conditioning wasn’t meant for that…The second he stepped up the pressure he got tired himself because he didn’t train that way, he doesn’t fight that way. We can fight both ways.”

On how he views Spence vs Tszyu

“I favor Tszyu. He’s been more active. And they’re fighting in Australia. That’s a big factor. That’s a huge factor. I don’t know if Spence has ever even been to Australia…That layoff is going to show some. I understand losing and coming back to fight, like I did. I lost, I came back maybe a year later, but I was training still…This guy’s been out of the circle for what, maybe three years? That’s too much time, and you know he wasn’t training. So we’ll see. I don’t favor him.”
