Identifying the Seahawks' best position group for 2026

The Seattle Seahawks have talent up and down their roster heading into next season, but which position group is the team’s strongest when looking at how each stacks up against the other at the present?

Seattle Seahawks on SI’s Michael Hanich ranked the defensive line as the Seahawks’ best position group for next season.

“The Seahawks’ defensive line might be the best position group on the team based on their stars, role players and a potential breakout star,” Hanich said. “Defensive tackle/end Leonard Williams was voted as the No. 1 defensive tackle heading into the season by ESPN. Byron Murphy was an honorable mention and highly underrated. Both players accounted for seven sacks each and accumulated 16 tackles for loss.”

The Seahawks’ wide receivers were ranked No. 2, followed by linebackers (No. 3), the secondary (No. 4), the offensive line (No. 5), special teams (No. 6), quarterbacks (No. 7), tight ends (No. 8), and running backs (No. 9).

Seattle has a deep wide receiver room for next season, and are anchored by second-team All-Pro Ernest Jones at linebacker. The offensive line has its question marks, notably with Anthony Bradford on the hot seat, but Seattle has talent at tight end and running back that may elevate those position groups in 2026 once seen on the field.
