We are diving into some fantasy football content this offseason as we look to bring in all sorts of football fans to Bucs Wire. While offensive players often dominate fantasy football discussions, IDP leagues continue to grow in popularity, offering another way for fans to enjoy the game.

We will start with some rookie profiles and how they fit into the landscape of the teams that drafted them. Next up is Miami Dolphins linebacker Kyle Louis.

Louis entered the NFL after three seasons at Pittsburgh, where his athleticism and coverage ability made him one of the more interesting linebacker prospects in the class. His best season came in 2024, when he posted 75 tackles, 7 sacks, 4 interceptions, and earned an overall defensive grade of 83.4 from PFF.

Reason to Believe in Kyle Louis in 2026: Coverage traits give him a path

Louis has a skill set that can eventually matter in the right role. He moves well in space, has experience matching tight ends and backs, and showed real ball production during his time at Pittsburgh.

The problem is opportunity. Miami currently lists him behind Tyrel Dodson and Ronnie Harrison Jr. at weakside linebacker, which makes defensive snaps difficult to project early. That likely leaves Louis competing for special-teams work and a small sub-package role as a rookie.

Still, his coverage ability gives him a specific way onto the field. If Miami wants more speed at linebacker in passing situations, Louis has the athletic profile to earn a look.

2026 Outlook

Louis should not be drafted in most redraft IDP leagues. His depth chart position makes him a long-shot weekly contributor, and his projected role is too small to trust for fantasy production.

The long-term outlook is more interesting. Louis has the movement skills and coverage instincts to eventually become a useful weakside linebacker if he gets stronger and improves against blocks.

For 2026, fantasy managers should treat Louis as a deep watch-list player only. He has traits worth monitoring, but not enough immediate opportunity to matter in standard redraft formats.
