‘I’m going to take over his backyard’: Errol Spence lands in Australia ahead of Tim Tszyu fight
As Errol Spence officially touched down Down Under ahead of his July 26 middleweight meeting with Tim Tszyu, Fight Hub quickly catches up with Spence as he goes through his last leg of training camp before the fight. Spence would get step off the plan to be get a welcomed surprise.
“It was a dope experience,” Spence said of the performance greeting he received upon arrival in Australia. “I wasn’t expecting to get greeted by aborigines and getting a whole dance and getting to meet them and everything. So, it was dope, man. I appreciate that.”
Spence would then be asked about what he plans on doing between now and fight time.
“Just a lot of training, probably some media stuff. But just staying focused, going over the game plan in the gym and getting ready,” Spence would say. “It’s going to be a dope event. I’ve been used to it. Even when I was in the amateurs I fought overseas a lot, so it’s not something I’m unfamiliar with at all.”
And when asked for any message he’d like to send to Tszyu, Spence kept it short and sweet.
“I don’t have no message for [Tszyu]. I’m the big fish. I’m going to come take over his backyard.”
With Spence and Tszyu both at a bit of a crossroads in this matchup, neither man can really afford a loss here if either has any real intention of making it back to championship-level boxing.
