Injury Update: Ismael Saibari doubtful for quarterfinal against France

Bayern Munich was thrilled when the club announced the official signing of Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven. In recent summer transfer windows, Bayern fans were forced to wait until the end of August for big signings after multiple misses on key targets. Paired with the addition of Nathaniel Brown, Bayern have already added depth pieces that fans have craved since the team faltered late in the season due to injury and fatigue.

Unfortunately, Saibari’s first match after signing the dotted line came to an abrupt end when he subbed off after 22 minutes. Morocco travels to Massachusetts on Thursday for the quarterfinal against France and the outlook on Saibari is not good.

Ismael Saibari did not train with Morocco Monday and Tuesday as they prepare for tomorrow’s game against France. He’s a major doubt for the game, but the Moroccan FA has yet to reveal the exact extent of the injury, even though he was due to undergo an MRI scan two days ago.

While early reports have indicated the hamstring injury is not too serious, Bayern fans would still prefer that Saibari play it safe and heal completely. Otherwise, he might become the latest victim to join the growing list of Bayern players dealing with lingering issues.
