Inter Milan’s Yann Sommer moves to Club Brugge
Former Bundesliga goalkeeper Yann Sommer has joined Belgian champions Club Brugge from Inter Milan, the club has announced.
The 37-year-old Swiss joins Club Brugge on a free transfer, having signed a contract until 2029.
The vastly experienced Sommer played in the Bundesliga for Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayern Munich between 2014 and 2023. With Inter, he won the Scudetto twice, the Coppa Italia, and the Super Cup.
Sommer is expected to take up the number one spot at his new club, replacing Simon Mignolet, who has since retired.
The Belgian champions will also participate in this season’s Champions League and will be hoping that Sommer’s experience can see them through the League phase.
“No story is truly over as long as the hunger remains,” the 37-year-old said in his introductory video at the Royal Theatre in Bruges.
