International Pro Pickleball Recap for July 26th Weekend — Recaps From Singapore, Malaysia, And Italy

Last weekend, in addition to hosting the 8th of nine regular season Major League Pickleball events, featured no less than three international competitions around the globe. Let’s do a quick recap of the results, highlighting the winners, the upsets, and the top players who made waves.

The PPA and APP’s international arms were both in action, with Asia-based pros choosing to go to either Malaysia or Singapore for the weekend, while the PPA held its first ever European pro stop.

2026 PPA Asia 500 Leapmotor Singapore Open

PPA-Asia hosted a 500-level event in Singapore, which is a huge point total for the region (worth half as much as a regular tour stop). Click here for the draws.

Collin Johns & Len Yang took their third medal (and second gold) together on the PPA Asia circuit since May with a 3-game win in the final over Hien Truong & Kenta Miyoshi. Hong Kit Wong (who goes by the nick name “Jack”) won his third Men’s Singles gold medal in the last four international PPA events, beating US-based Adam Harvey in the final. Wong ended up taking medals in all three disciplines for the weekend.

On the women’s side, Yufie Long took the double, winning the singles gold over Annie Xie and then teaming up with Hong Kong-based Kara Wheatley for the gold.

The biggest story may have been in Mixed, where 16-yr old Atlanta based Jaeda Minniefield teamed up with Vietnam’s Luc Pham to claim the Mixed pro title. Minniefield has a slew of PPA Challenger medals, but picks up a significant title here.

2026 Leapmotor APP Penang Open

The sixth event of the 2026 APP-GSP international series was held in Penang, the second time the tour has visited Malaysia this year. Click here for the draws.

Quang Duong did the double, taking the Singles title over rising star 15-yr old former Table Tennis phenome Phoenix He from China. He then took the doubles title with Harsh Mehta, beating the top seeds Munro & Schenk, and repeating their gold-medal winning feat from Ho Chi Minh city. Duong missed out on the triple crown though; he fell in the Mixed pro finals (8),0,0 to Jack Munro & Roos van Reek after going on a spirited run that included a win over the top seeds Fudge & Schenk.

Speaking of van Reek, she had herself a Triple Crown winning weekend. In pro singles, 3rd seeded Roos van Reek came out on top over 4th seeded Yu-chieh Hsieh in the Women’s pro singles, with both top seeds (Hendry and Bates) falling early. She paired up with Vivian Glozman to take the doubles crown, repeating the feat they claimed together a month ago in Vietnam.

This is van Reek’s second career pro triple crown; she also did this feat a month ago, with the same partners, at the 2026 Pickleball Djoy Tour Event 2: BIDV Cup in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

2026 Portoroz Italy 125

The inaugural event of the PPA’s new Italian series kicked off last weekend in a city not actually in Italy. Portoroz is actually in Slovenia, on its western coast just across the Adriatic sea from Venice. The starter event was given a 1/8th value of a typical PPA event; 125 points to the bracket winners. The tournament drew mostly from Europe, with some familiar names taking podiums.

Louis Laville & Tom Protzek (from England and Germany respectively) teamed up to take the Men’s doubles title. Top Hungarian pro Balint Bako took out Spaniard Josep “Pep” Canyadell (who was just in Grand Rapids playing on Team Europe in the mid-season event).

Claudia Caymel Romero and the UK’s Katie Morris took the Women’s Doubles. Sabrina Mendez Dominguez took a smaller Women’s singles draw. Lastly, Katie Morris secured the “double double” for the weekend, winning Mixed with Ben Cawston.
