Jacksonville Jaguars' quarterback Trevor Lawrence found himself on the outside looking in at ESPN's top 10 quarterback rankings entering the 2026 NFL season.

Jeremy Fowler constructs these positional rankings each year, and what makes them unique is that they are put together with the input of 70 NFL execs, coaches, and scouts as the voters. Other elements, such as research, interviews, and film analysis by Matt Bowen, factor in as well.

With all that taken into account, Fowler then compiles the top 10, highlights a few honorable mentions, and notes which players received votes.

This year, Lawrence was in the honorable mention category.

"He has controlled his turnovers and just has a better understanding of what defenses are trying to do against him," an AFC offensive coach told Fowler. "He plays better ball when the offensive infrastructure and personnel around him set him up for success instead of asking him to do everything on your own. Liam [Coen] did a nice job in Year 1 of giving him the answers to the test pre-snap."

Lawrence thrived in the Liam Coen offense last season, particularly during the second half of the season as his comfort within the system grew.

The Jaguars' offense was one of the hottest in football during the team's eight-game winning streak, while Lawrence ended up as an MVP finalist.

As good as Lawrence was down the stretch, the continuity of being in the same system for a second offseason can often be the catalyst behind a Year 2 jump.

Throughout the offseason, Coen has been impressed with Lawrence's ability to take care of the football, along with his willingness to push the ball downfield.

Coen has also taken note of Lawrence's operation of the offense pre-snap
