Chris Gotterup has done it again.

Gotterup erupted on Sunday in the final round at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, to claim the John Deere Classic. He posted a 9-under 62 to jump up 11 spots on the leaderboard, and then held on at 20-under to secure his win.

It marked Gotterup's third win of the season, which has him tied with Matt Fitzpatrick for the most wins this campaign on the PGA Tour. The win, Gotterup's fifth of his career, also earned him a $1.584 million check.

The leaderboard was packed entering the final round. Lucas Glover and Lee Hodges held a share of the lead after Saturday night at 16-under, though nine players were within four shots of the lead — including Iowa native and former U.S. Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson.

But it was Gotterup who took off on Sunday. He birdied five of his first seven holes of the day to get into contention immediately, and he snagged the solo lead briefly with a deep birdie at the 17th.

While Ben Kohles hung around and even started the 18th tied with Gotterup in the lead, he sent his approach wide left into the water. That miss led to a double bogey at the last and gave Gotterup the win.

Gotterup won the season opener in Hawaii back in January, and then he won two starts later in a playoff at the WM Phoenix Open. He's missed just a single cut all season and went T10 at the PGA Championship back in May. The 26-year-old entered the week at No. 14 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Here's a look at how much Gotterup and the rest of the field won this week in Illinois.
