LeBron James pulls an Aaron Rodgers with his huge NBA decision

Apparently, the road to retirement runs through Pennsylvania. LeBron James has finally announced his NBA landing spot, and it has shades of the same script Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers chose for his final NFL season.

In what is likely his final run in the NBA, James announced that he'd be signing with the Philadelphia 76ers, just a few hundred miles east of where Rodgers will close out his NFL chapter in Pittsburgh. Two all-time greats in their respective sports are choosing to end their careers in the great state of Pennsylvania.

James, coming off an eight-season stint with the Los Angeles Lakers that included one NBA championship, spent the past several weeks linked to potential suitors like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors. But it was ultimately the City of Brotherly Love that won the James jackpot.

Unlike James, however, Rodgers didn't have that many options for his 2026 season, as a reunion with the Steelers was arguably the best fit for both sides. Both players will undoubtedly look to finish off their careers on a high note, while Steelers fans are hoping Rodgers and the new-look offense led by Mike McCarthy have enough in the tank for a deep playoff run.
