This year's MLB Draft is almost here, which means a new wave of potentially franchise-altering players will begin their rise up the ranks.

For the third year in a row, the order of the first six draft picks was determined by MLB's annual Draft Lottery. The Chicago White Sox won the lottery and hold the No. 1 overall pick for the third time in franchise history. Previously, they've taken Danny Goodwin (1971) and future Hall of Famer Harold Baines (1977) at No. 1 overall.

The White Sox also have slugger Munetaka Murakami, who has already established himself as one of the league's best sluggers before he became injured. The Tampa Bay Rays, who have the best record in the American League, will draft in the No. 2 spot, followed by the Minnesota Twins at third overall.
