MLB Rankings: Top 10 shortstops at the All-Star break

The 2026 MLB season has reached the All-Star Game. This season has shown many players and teams having sensational seasons. Following the All-Star Game, the second half of the season will be in full swing. Here are the top 10 shortstops at the midway point of the season.

10. Dansby Swanson, Chicago Cubs

Swanson has tapped into his potential thus far in 2026. His average has struggled, but he’s seeing many balls leave the ballpark. He must continue producing as the season progresses.

9. Ezequiel Duran, Texas Rangers

Duran is having the best season of his career. A veteran utility player, Duran has put together a strong season. By the end of the season, he will have career highs across the board.

8. Brayan Rocchio, Cleveland Guardians

Rocchio has had a strong season. He has taken over the starting shortstop job in Cleveland. He has become an underrated player at the position.

7. Zach Neto, Los Angeles Angels

Neto continues to hit for power. He is third in home runs among MLB shortstops. He’s not an All-Star but he’s posted great numbers.

The rookie continues to impress. He has been one of the bright spots on a Detroit team that hasn’t struggled to win ball games. He will be a finalist for the AL Rookie of the Year Award.

5. Otto Lopez, Miami Marlins

Lopez is having a phenomenal season. He currently leads MLB shortstops in hits. Once thought to be sellers, the Marlins will be buyers at the trade deadline.

4. Colson Montgomery, Chicago White Sox

Montgomery continues to do damage for the White Sox. At the All-Star Break, he leads MLB shortstops in home runs. He has a bright career ahead of him.

3. Elly De La Cruz, Cincinnati Reds

De La Cruz is back to producing after a short stint on the injured list. He has one of the best OPS among MLB shortstops. He can end the season as the top-ranked MLB shortstop.

2. Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas City Royals

Witt Jr. has become a superstar. He leads MLB shortstops in stolen bases. He will be a finalist for the AL MVP Award.

1. CJ Abrams, Washington Nationals

Abrams has put together a monster season. He enters the All-Star Break leading MLB shortstops in OPS. He is currently second in home runs among MLB shortstops.
