One NFC scout compared University of Texas quarterback Arch Manning -- the nephew of Peyton Manning -- to current Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones.

ESPN NFL draft analyst Jordan Reid recently spoke with numerous talent evaluators, discussing the 2027 draft class, which has a lot of hype.

So, naturally, when discussing the quarterbacks, Manning's name came up. However, in the scout's comparison to Jones, that wasn't the most glowing comparison.

"Everyone's falling in love with the future vision of the player, and he simply hasn't shown anything close to that right now," an NFC scout told Reid. "I see Daniel Jones when I watch him -- a good, not great, prospect."

As Reid wrote, last season was a "tale of two seasons" for Manning, who, after a slow start, began to turn this around, with his "field vision and mechanics" improving.

One AFC national scout was far more impressed than the NFC scout Reid spoke to.

"He was simply trying to do too much early on, but I thought he relaxed around midseason and put some really good stuff on tape," the AFC national scout said to Reid.

Manning completed 61% of his passes last season for 3,163 yards with 26 touchdowns to seven interceptions.

Jones, meanwhile, had a resurgent first year with the Colts and under Shane Steichen. He and the offense were off to a red-hot start through 10 games. Basically pick a metric, and Jones likely ranked near the top.

Unfortunately, an Achilles injury ended his season early. Now, the big question facing Jones is whether he can replicate last year's early success, especially when coming off a major injury.
