OHSAA dates for the upcoming 2026 football season
High school football in Ohio is looming.
Right now teams are busy with conditioning drills, weight lifting sessions and 7-on-7 passing competitions, but the season is nearly upon us as the Ohio High School Athletic Association recently released the upcoming football schedule for the summer and fall.
Here are some important dates to put on the calendar for 2026:
Aug. 1: First practice.
Aug. 21: First Friday night football game regular season opener.
Oct. 25: Regular season ends.
Oct. 26: Playoff qualifiers officially announced.
Oct. 30: First-round playoff games.
Nov. 6: Regional quarterfinals.
Nov. 13: Regional semifinals.
Nov. 20: Regional championships.
Nov. 26: Thanksgiving.
Nov. 27: State semifinals.
Dec. 3-5: State championships in Canton.
