Patriots QB Drake Maye shares initial thoughts ahead of training camp
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is ready for training camp.
According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Maye stated at his FlexWork Sports camp on Thursday that he is excited to get back in the swing of things with his teammates once training camp begins later this month.
”We’re back to getting into football phase,” Maye said. “And that’s the best thing about it. Being around the guys. Training camp is one of the best times for bonding. You spend a lot of time together, and I think, getting used to some new pieces, and looking forward to getting back to it.”
Maye had the opportunity to forge continuity with his teammates during the Patriots’ offseason program last spring. He will get more opportunities to build connections with Patriots' newcomers A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs before the 2026 season begins.
Patriots training camp begins on July 25. Maye will be required to show up with the team’s veteran players the day prior, on July 24.
