Patriots sign defensive tackle who spent 2025 on injured reserve
The Patriots filled a roster spot on Monday when they signed defensive tackle Isaiah Iton.
Iton initially signed with the Patriots last May and showed flashes of what he could bring to the team during training camp and the preseason. But a hip injury landed the defensive lineman on season-ending injured reserve.
The 24-year-old was not tendered a contract by New England this summer when he became an exclusive rights free agent, but he will now get a chance to crack the roster out of camp.

An undrafted free agent in 2024, Iton spent his rookie season with the Tennessee Titans. He spent the year on their practice squad and did not appear in a game.
Iton will try to be part of the Patriots’ defensive tackle depth. The group includes Christian Barmore and Milton Williams, and also features Cory Durden, Jeremiah Pharms Jr., Leonard Taylor III, Joshua Farmer, Eric Gregory and David Blay Jr.
The Patriots open training camp on Friday.
