The watch for LeBron James’ next team continues as NBA free agency heads into its third week. Reportedly, the Golden State Warriors, the Miami Heat, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Philadelphia 76ers are the frontrunners to land him.

While the four-time MVP is taking his time, one of his friends is urging him to leave the West.

LeBron James Advised to Reject Warriors for East Contender in Free Agency

James’ friend, Cuffs The Legend, has been making not-so-subtle hints about where he thinks the NBA’s all-time scoring king should take his talents next. Early this month, he wrote that he’s “patiently waiting for the goat to send me those fire & palm tree emojis so I can take my Miami Heat gear outta storage.”

On Sunday, the podcaster added more reasons why he thought the 22-time All-Star should return to Miami instead of going to Golden State.

“Playing with Giannis & Bam > playing with Steph Curry & Draymond. The Warriors’ Championship window has CLOSED. The Miami Heat have a better roster, and proven vets will flock to Miami to play with the Heatles 2.0. Please don’t overthink this,” Cuffs The Legend posted.

The content creator’s public plea came after Draymond Green said on Sunday’s “Draymond Green Show” that he had spent some time with the former Los Angeles Lakers superstar. According to Green, his pitch to James was “crazy,” adding that what he said would “make the brain work.”

At the very least, Green emphasized that if James were to eventually make the decision to play elsewhere other than Golden State, the four-time NBA Finals MVP would “think twice about it.”

If James decides to stay in the West and goes to the Bay Area, he forms an aging super team with Stephen Curry (38), Jimmy Butler (36), and Green (36). With all four having dealt with multiple injuries over the past few seasons, health would be a crucial factor for them.

In Butler’s case, his return from a torn right ACL is still uncertain. Moses Moody, if not traded, is still rehabbing from a torn left patellar tendon. The Warriors will miss key players right off the bat.

Meanwhile, the Heat have Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo, stars at the prime of their careers. After the Antetokounmpo trade, the supporting cast includes Davion Mitchell, Andrew Wiggins, Tim Hardaway Jr., Simone Fontecchio, Nikola Jovic, and Bobby Portis.

James also has a long history with the Heat, unlike the Dubs. Although the 21-time All-NBA won an Olympic gold in 2024 with Curry and Steve Kerr, he spent four seasons in South Beach and led Miami to two NBA championships.

For Cuffs The Legend, the Heat should be the choice over the Warriors or any other interested team.
