Portsmouth boss Mousinho on trio’s fitness and another new signing

New Portsmouth signing Marko Milovanovic is “three or four weeks” away from being able to play, boss John Mousinho says.

Pompey were beaten 3-1 by Wycombe in a pre-season friendly at Adams Park on Saturday, with Milovanovic not involved having after signing for the club earlier on in the week.

“Unfortunately for Marko, he’s not been training,” Mousinho said. “He’s been training on his own to keep himself fit and he’s a long way off being match ready and match fit.

“He’s probably about three or four weeks away from being available.”

Meanwhile, Josh Murphy also did not feature and is still building up his fitness.

Franco Umeh, meanwhile, is set to be out for around a month with a groin problem.

“Josh still isn’t quite ready to play yet,” Mousinho said. “Just building him up to make sure we don’t risk it unnecessarily.

“Franco has had a setback so he’s probably another four weeks away from training.”

Mousinho also revealed that Pompey are closing in on another summer signing.

“There’s one more that we should be able to announce in the next couple of days,” he said.
