Predicting Landing Spots for 5 Top Offensive NFL Free Agents Still Available Before Training Camp

NFL training camp begins across the league this coming week, with players from all 32 teams hitting the practice field as the road to the Super Bowl begins. Now that training camp has arrived, a few impactful NFL free agents could sign with clubs in a matter of days.

Let’s predict where the top NFL free agents still available will land, with our focus starting on offense.

Keenan Allen: Washington Commanders

In his age-33 season, wide receiver Keenan Allen put up 70-plus receptions and 700-plus receiving yards for the second consecutive year with 40-plus first downs. He’s years removed from being a high-end impact player, but his 0.108 first downs per route run (15th among receivers) demonstrates the valuable role he can still play. We really like the idea of Allen signing with the Washington Commanders, providing an underneath weapon who could help move the chains. This would obviously reduce rookie wideout Antonio Williams’ initial role, but it could also really benefit him long-term to have Allen mentor him in 2026.

Taylor Decker: Pittsburgh Steelers

It’s fair to wonder if Taylor Decker might now be regretting his decision to have the Detroit Lions release him given there’s seemingly been no movement towards signing him since he hit NFL free agency. That should change with training camp underway. It feels like signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers is the best option for all parties. We don’t know when Broderick Jones will play football again and starting the season on injured reserve seems likely. We’re also not exactly confident in Troy Fautanu handling the transition to left tackle well and Aaron Rodgers isn’t going to be patient in his final NFL season. Rodgers would likely have more confidence in Decker, who he’s seen man the position for a decade-plus. Signing Decker would also allow 2026 first-round pick Max Iheanachor to be eased into a starting role.

Stefon Diggs: Kansas City Chiefs

The legal woes aren’t entirely behind Stefon Diggs, but the Kansas City Chiefs have demonstrated they are willing to roll the dice for an impactful starter. Diggs fits that description to a tee. The 32-year-old wideout has already stated he’s comfortable being the No. 2 pass-catching threat in an offense, especially if it means suiting up for a playoff contender and catching passes from an upper-echelon quarterback. Looking at the Chiefs’ receiving corps behind Rashee Rice, there are massive question marks with Xavier Worthy and Tyquan Thornton, and neither player is as capable as Diggs is at serving as a security blanket for Patrick Mahomes. The fit makes too much sense.

Kevin Zeitler: Los Angeles Chargers

We don’t see a single viable reason why the Los Angeles Chargers should feel comfortable with Jake Slaughter and Cole Strange as their starting guards when Kevin Zeitler is just sitting out there in NFL free agency. Is the 36-year-old interior offensive lineman still a Pro Bowl-caliber guard? No. That’s not the bar Los Angeles needs him to reach. Zeitler is, however, still above-average in pass protection, and we think he could perform even better than he did in 2025 because he’d be playing alongside Joe Alt.

Deebo Samuel: Los Angeles Rams

Deebo Samuel is still a very useful offensive weapon to have when paired with the right play-caller and quarterback. He proved in 2025 that, with the seventh-most yards after catch (466), he can still make plays in open space. There’s plenty of that in this Los Angeles Rams offense. Sean McVay’s passing game could also still benefit from adding a viable No. 3 receiver, and while the Rams head coach would need to find some creative ways to distribute targets among Samuel, Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, that’s a good problem to have. Samuel is the perfect icing on the cake for the Rams’ offense; he would get a shot to compete for the Super Bowl and something tells us that he would enjoy facing the San Francisco 49ers two or even three times this season.
