Rams LT Alaric Jackson reportedly not facing criminal charges following domestic violence arrest
Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson isn’t facing facing criminal charges after being arrested on suspicion of domestic violence last month, according tomultiplereports in the past week that have cited the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.
"Charges are not filed against the respondent at this time; however, the case stays open throughout the length of the statute of limitations. It can be re-evaluated if there are further developments," said Ivor Pine, a spokesperson for the city attorney’s office, in a statement, per the Los Angeles Times and ESPN.
Jackson's case has been assigned for a pre-filing diversion, an alternative to misdemeanor prosecution, Pine told those outlets. City officials, according to NBC4 Los Angeles, are planning to give Jackson options that include attending a class, paying restitution or completing community service.
Jackson, who’s turning 28 on Tuesday, can still face discipline from the NFL if the league deems that he’s violated its personal conduct policy. His violation of that policy in 2024 resulted in a two-game suspension. A second violation could land Jackson a six-game suspension or a ban from the league for at least one year.
Jackson was arrested on June 8, when police responded to a call at his home in San Fernando Valley, where Jackson and a woman had engaged in an argument, per NBC4. Police learned that the woman involved recorded the interaction, according to the Times. They also reportedly identified scratch marks on her arms.
Jackson was officially arrested on what police told ESPN was a charge for "a person who willfully inflicts corporal injury" against a spouse. He was released on a $50,000 bond, the Times reported last month.
This past November, the Iowa product was sued by a woman who alleged that, without her consent, he recorded a sexual encounter with her on his phone back in May 2024 in Los Angeles, as reported by The Athletic.
According to the lawsuit, Jackson “pressured her into sexual acts,” lied that he had deleted the video and eventually transmitted it, “retraumatizing her,” per The Athletic. The woman reported the incident to the NFL, which suspended Jackson for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, the suit reportedly read. The lawsuit, though, was dismissed on April 10 after being moved to federal court, per ESPN.
In February 2025, the Rams signed him to a three-year extension reportedly worth $57 million, including $37 million guaranteed. L.A. originally brought him in as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He’s far exceeded expectations on the field, starting 51 of the 57 games he’s played in over his five NFL seasons.
He was part of the Rams’ Super Bowl-winning squad during the 2021 season but has served as Matthew Stafford’s everyday blind-side protector each of the past three campaigns.
