When things are going well, they just keep going well.

The Boston Red Sox needed some help from New York Mets star shortstop on Sunday, but in the end, a blunder by Lindor propelled Boston toward yet another win -- stretching the win streak to nine in a row.

The Red Sox trailed 2-0 in the ninth with a runner on first and one out when Romy Gonzalez hit a sharp grounder to the shortstop Lindor.

If he fields cleanly, it's probably a groundball double play.

Instead, Lindor flubbed it:

The Red Sox still had plenty of work to do from that point.

Caleb Durbin worked a walk to load the bases.

Then it was Andruw Monasterio with a bases loaded walk to get within 2-1.

Then there was Jarren Duran on an RBI single to tie it 2-2.

The Mets escaped when Masataka Yoshida lined into a double play, so it went to the bottom of the ninth tied.

Aroldis Chapman allowed a one-out single in bottom nine but nothing more.

In the top of the 10th, Anthony Seigler's sacrifice fly put Boston up 3-2.

Garrett Whitlock came on for the bottom of the 10th and got a 1-2-3 inning without allowing the inherited runner to score.

The final was Red Sox 3, Mets 2, with some help from Lindor.
