Report: One reason kept LeBron James from seriously entertaining Warriors
Although the Warriors were at one point considered a real destination for LeBron James this summer, they ultimately fell down on his list and eventually lost out to the Philadelphia 76ers.
ESPN's Ramon Shelburne revealed more about Golden State's chances to land the 23-year veteran, explaining that the Warriors were "appealing (to James) for a time." However, Shelburne added that James would "only" entertain a contract with the Warriors had they added "a proven star forward," with Anthony Davis being high on James' list of players to work with.
Not only was there a reluctance for Golden State to deal for the former Kentucky big man, but the Washington Wizards ultimately seemed content to keep him. That left very few "star" players on the market (if any), following blockbuster deals that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat and Jaylen Brown to Philadelphia.
