Roma interested in Mbaye on loan from PSG
Roma is finalizing the deal for Crysencio Summerville with West Ham, but the incoming transfers to improve their attack don’t end there.
Gian Piero Gasperini was clear in his press conference: he’s looking for two attacking wingers, despite the departure of Matias Soulé, which is far from a given.
Among the players being monitored is PSG’s Ibrahim Mbaye. The 2008-born player is locked into the French club, facing stiff competition: Dembele, Barcola, Kvaratskhelia, and Doué. This is why the French club could part ways with the Senegalese talent on loan.
Mbaye stood out during the World Cup with a stunning goal against France, and not just any national team. The Senegal winger didn’t miss a single World Cup match: 155 minutes and one goal.
As Corriere dello Sport reports, Roma isn’t the only club interested in the 2008-born player; Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur, Leipzig, and Atlético Madrid are also monitoring him.
The deal could be a loan deal with an option to buy for €25-30 million, with a counter-purchase option to PSG for €35-40 million. The French club’s winger finished the season with three goals and two assists in 30 games: 1,152 minutes, 101 of which were in the Champions League.
