Ross Tucker offers high praise to Lavonte David afetr retirement
Lavonte David is going to be remembered by Bucs fans and fans of the NFL in general following his retirement. The former Nebraska Cornhusker came to the Bucs in 2012 and immediately made his impact known and will leave his mark on the franchise. So much so, his likeness remains in the team's draft room to remind everyone the types of people they need on the roster.
While that serves as some high praise, more is on the way for the now-former Bucs linebacker.
The latest batch of praise comes from former NFL player turned media member Ross Tucker. On his show that bears his name, Tucker couldn't hide his joy at being a David fan and watching him all these years. He explained, “I can't begin to tell you how impressive it is for a guy like Lavonte David to play double-digit years. . .the mental and physical toughness that you have to have to play in the front seven and line up every Sunday year after year."
David was a model of consistency for the Bucs and his teammates on the roster. He played in nine complete seasons, missing games in five others, but he was really impressive in how he took care of himself to be available for the Bucs. When you zoom out even further on his playing time, he played in 215 games out of a possible 230 in his career.
For a linebacker to be that healthy speaks to his preparedness and work ethic, especially on a team that is often dealing with injuries as often as the Bucs.
