Sean McVay Shares Latest on Aaron Donald’s Possible Rams Return

The hype around the possible return of Aaron Donald is at a massive high as day by day, there is momentum growing.

Now, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has shared that while Donald will not report to training camp, the legendary defender has put his body through the paces to see where he is at.

“He is going through his process,” McVay shared on Saturday at the first day of training camp.

“He is putting himself in a position to make a decision and he’s earned the right to be able to do that…If that is something he wants to do, we’re going to try to make that happen.”

Rumors and talk of Donald coming back started back when news of the Myles Garrett trade broke.

Thinking about the prospect of playing with Garrett, Donald has mulled a return to his only NFL team after two years into his retirement.

Donald has worked out at the Rams facility, and he is seemingly now seriously testing his body to see if he can still deliver at an elite level.

Could Aaron Donald play Week 1?

The Rams will be careful with Donald to see how long he needs to get up to game speed, making a Week 1 appearance tricky the more his return to practice is delayed.

“He’s gonna go through what he’s going through right now,” McVay said. “We’ll see how his body’s responding to some of the training and the way he puts himself through the paces to know what it looks and feels like to take on what the rigors of an NFL season entail.

“If he’s feeling good about that, we’ll move forward and what those dates are I’ll share when we have more information.”

Still, considering that Donald is a freak of nature and is a veteran, he won’t need too much time to get ready either.

An athlete of his status, given how well he maintains himself in terms of training and working out, should still be able to play on the football field.

Ultimately, it will come down to desire.
