Tennessee baseball signee Gannon Grant to withdraw from 2026 MLB Draft
Tennessee baseball signee Gannon Grant, a right-handed pitcher, is withdrawing from the 2026 MLB Draft and will play for the Vols next season.
Grant announced his decision on social media after going unselected in the first nine rounds of the draft.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Grant was MLB Pipeline's No. 212 prospect entering the draft and was ranked No. 125 by ESPN. Prep Baseball Report ranked him as the No. 54 college prospect in the class of 2026.
Grant, who attended Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana — just south of Indianapolis — committed to Tennessee in September 2024. He will be eligible for the 2028 MLB Draft.
Grant was this year's Gatorade Player of the Year in Indiana, beating out players like fellow signee Sean Dunlap, who is from Crown Point. In the regular season, Grant had a record of 6-0, an ERA of 0.76 and 58 strikeouts in 37 innings.
