While it was a bit later than many had projected, Texas A&M's star infielder Gavin Grahovac has been selected with the No. 81 pick in the third round of the 2026 MLB Draft.

The Angels' organization is getting one of the most talented hitters and gloves from this year's class. The junior from Orange, California, started in all 57 games for the Aggies in 2026, posting a .339 batting average with 22 home runs. That mark placed the 6-foot-3, 230-pound right-hander seventh in school history for single-season homers. His 47 career home runs are tied with Aggie legend John Byington for the fourth-most all time.

Grahovac was a First Team All-SEC selection, a Golden Spikes Award semifinalist, and an NCBWA Third-Team All-American for his massive contributions in his final collegiate season with the Maroon and White.

After an outstanding freshman campaign during Texas A&M's College World Series run, in which Grahovac set the program's single-season freshman record with 23 home runs and 66 RBI, he was named the conference's freshman of the year. Despite a grueling back injury that sidelined him for much of Michael Earley's first year as head coach in 2025, Grahovac bounced back to lead the Aggies with 78 hits and 26 multi-hit games.

In the era of the transfer portal and NIL, he was an Aggie through and through. That sentiment was displayed in Grahovac's pre-draft interview with David Nuño of TexAgs.

“I thank A&M, more than anything, for this opportunity and how they’ve helped me get to where I am right now," Grahovac said ahead of his special moment on Saturday.
