UFC Abu Dhabi Highlights! Sam Patterson Destroys Santiago Ponzinibbio With Brutal TKO

Sam Patterson captured the biggest win of his career earlier today (Sat., July 25, 2026) at UFC Abu Dhabi LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE, as “The Future” stopped former UFC welterweight contender Santiago Ponzinibbio via second-round TKO (punches).

Patterson was a very large betting favorite entering Saturday morning’s matchup and for good reason. The 30-year-old English fighter was coming off a decision loss to Michael Page, but before that Patterson had won four in a row under the UFC banner (all finishes). Ponzinibbio is always a punch away from changing a fight, but at 39 years of age the former contender doesn’t have much left in the tank.

As expected, Patterson was able to use his long reach and tall frame to pepper Ponzinibbio from range and stay out of harm’s way. Ponzinibbio kept trying to crash in and make it a close firefight, but Patterson moved his feet well and maintained distance. This eventually allowed him to batter Ponzinibbio with shots in the second round before landing a final right hand that stopped the fight for good.
