Young gun Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gets another shot at proving himself as India lock horns with Zimbabwe in the series opener of the three-match T20I rubber in Harare on Thursday,

The left-hander's maiden appearance for the senior side came at Old Trafford, where he failed to turn a promising start into a substantial innings.

His brisk 14 runs off just 10 deliveries, though brief, carried the same aggressive stamp that made him a sensation during this year's Indian Premier League. That tournament saw him smash 776 runs and walk away with the Orange Cap, remarkable given he was only 15 at the time.

The story repeated itself in the fourth T20I of the series, where Archer once again had his number, sending him back for 15 off 10 balls after the youngster got a hook shot wrong against another short-pitched delivery and holed out to a fielder stationed at mid-on.

By the time the series reached Southampton, team management decided to bench the teenager.
