Joe Mazzulla puts in the work to make the Boston Celtics the best basketball team they possibly can be.

The Celtics head coach also puts in the work away from the court, too.

Specifically, Mazzulla is a committed MMA fighter in his spare time, using his time in the gym to hone an impressive physique.

On Tuesday, this video went viral on X. Mazzulla both explains why he gets after it like this, and he provides a look at the fact that he's in as good of shape as his own players:

There have been a number of moments in NBA history when head coaches find themselves in the mix of some on-court conflict.

In most of those, the coach looks a bit out of place.

If Mazzulla had to stand up for himself physically? It's pretty clear that he would hold his own.

Of course, the Celtics would prefer Mazzulla not have to get physical with anyone on or near the court. He's just fine calling plays and motivating his team.

This is a new look at him, though, and the Boston sports world has certainly noticed what their basketball coach looks like in an MMA setting.
