The Paul VI [Chantilly, VA] Panthers' dominant season came to a conclusion Saturday evening as the VISAA's top-ranked team won the Division I championship in a 64-52 win over the Bishop O'Connell [Arlington, VA] Knights.
Paul VI currently occupies the No. 6 spot in the latest edition of The Sporting News High School Boys Basketball Top 25 behind the season-long heroics of star guard Jordan Smith Jr., a consensus Top 5 prospect in the Class of 2026.
Smith is currently ranked No. 2 in the 247sports.com rankings for the Class of 2026, and he finally announced on February 13 his intentions to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks at the next level.
Paul VI, meanwhile, has assembled a spectacular 33-2 record to date, and the question now turns to whether or not the Panthers will get another opportunity to continue their postseason run in a national tournament.
