VOTE: Volusia-Flagler Girls Athlete of the Week for March 23-28 presented by Halifax Health

The polls are open!

It's time to vote for the Halifax Health Volusia-Flagler Girls Athlete of the Week for the week of March 23-28.

Two weeks ago, Father Lopez softball player Scotlyn Gill captured the honors, claiming 81% of the votes. Gill reached base all three times at the plate, scoring three runs and collecting five RBIs against Mainland.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal gathers nominees for upcoming polls from across the area via email at cvinel@usatodayco.com. Please send a player's name, school and notable statistics for a given week. Submissions are due no later than 8 a.m. every Monday.

To round out the ballot, our staff also picks athletes from scores and stats posted online or submitted by local coaches. Athletes for all in-season sports are eligible.

Voting in the online poll below will close at 5 p.m. Sunday. Votes are restricted to once per device per hour. Emailed votes will not count.

Flag football

Molly Brock, New Smyrna Beach: The sophomore completed 20 of her 26 passes for 185 yards and three touchdowns in a victory over Seabreeze.

Lacrosse

Addison Alred, Matanzas: The junior scored nine goals and assisted on another in a 17-10 victory over St. Joseph.

Brianna Long, Flagler Palm Coast: The junior tallied four goals and an assist in a 7-4 win over Menendez.

Softball

Alexis Minaberry, Spruce Creek: Across five games, the senior went 9 for 13 with two home runs, six RBIs and seven runs scored.

Tennis

Kyla Milwee, Spruce Creek: The freshman picked up wins in No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles against Ponte Vedra.

Track and field

Nneoma Ukawuilulu, Atlantic: The freshman won the 100-meter (13.09), 200-meter (27.17) and 400-meter dashes (1:04.07) at the Wolves Tuneup meet.
