What was El Paso’s HS sports moment in 2025-26? Cast your vote

With the 2025-26 high school sports season all finished, the El Paso Times will give readers a chance to vote to identify El Paso's top athletes and teams.

This week, readers can vote for the top moments during the 2025-26 school year.

Here are this week's nominees:

• Eastwood girls wrestling. The Troopers won the Class 6A state title for the second straight season.
• Americas boys soccer. The Trailblazers reached the state Final Four in Class 5A, Division 1.
• Burges boys soccer. The Mustangs reached the state Final Four in Class 5A, Division 2.
• Bel Air girls wrestling. The Highlanders finished third at the Class 5A state tournament.
• Ysleta football. The Indians won their first district championship since 1997.
• Burges boys basketball. The Mustangs played for the Region 1-5A, Division 2 title.
• Americas baseball. The Trailblazers played for the Region 1-5A, Division 1 title.
• Giselle Gandara, Eastlake volleyball. Gandara was named Freshman All-American by Max Preps.
• Canutillo boys 1,600 relay. The Eagles earned a bronze medal at Class 5A state meet. It was the first time Canutillo had qualified a relay team for state meet.
• El Dorado football. In one of the craziest games in any sport, the Aztecs defeated Amarillo High 77-76 in the Class 5A, Division 1 playoffs.
• Matthew Portillo, Clint track and field. In his first trip to state, Portillo claimed the silver medal in the pole vault in Class 4A.
• Jordan Owens, Andress track and field. In his first trip to state, Owens claimed the silver medal in the long jump in Class 5A.
• Chapin girls track and field. The Huskies finished third at the Region 1-5A championships
