Young athletes run big plays with the South Philly Sigma Sharks
When school lets out, local kids lace up their cleats for a summer of Football.
It's part of the South Philly Sigma Sharks, a youth nonprofit bringing a variety of athletic programming to the field.
Programming is held at Vare Recreation Center.
For all involved, it's not just how they develop their game, but also how they grow as individuals.
"We try to be those positive influences that teach kids about the struggles in life, that teach kids about having a commitment to a team, something that's bigger than yourself... So you know what it's like to go through that...there might be some tough times in life, but we just push through," said Anthony Meadows, President of the South Philly Sigma Sharks.
