The New York Knicks have had an interesting offseason thus far as they headed into the official start of NBA free agency on Monday night.

Of course, New York is the only team remaining still searching for a new head coach after they made the shocking decision to fire Tom Thibodeau after he helped lead they to their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2000 last season.

While the Knicks are still looking for their next head coach, they have made some key moves this offseason thus far.

During the 2025 NBA Draft, they selected Mohamed Diawara 51st overall and then signed undrafted free agent Dink Pate after the draft.

The Knicks then entered free agency on Monday night having been linked to many players and they made their first move by signing a former Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers guard.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Knicks are expected to sign Jordan Clarkson after he clears free agency waivers.

Of course, the Jazz and Clarkson were able to work out a contract buyout earlier on Monday and it did not take long for him to find a new team as he will join the Knicks after he clears waivers.

Clarkson has been linked to the Knicks over the last few seasons as his named continued to be brought up in trade rumors with the Jazz rebuilding, though Utah was never able to find a deal they liked for the veteran guard.

Now the 33-year-old guard will join the Knicks where he should have a large role off the bench next season.

Clarkson will provide New York with a great scorer in their second unit as he has averaged more than 15 points per game in every season since the 2018-19 campaign, a year after he was sent to the Cleveland Cavaliers by the Lakers.

With this move, the Knicks were able to upgrade their bench and there will likely be more moves coming along with a head coaching decision for New York in the near future.
