The San Francisco 49ersofficially closed the book on their rookie contract negotiations, announcing that they have signed their final remaining unsigned draft pick, edge rusher Romello Height, to his four-year rookie deal.

The team confirmed the transaction on Monday, fully securing the contract for the 70th overall pick from the 2026 NFL Draft. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Height's rookie contract is a four-year agreement worth approximately $7.29 million, which includes an estimated signing bonus of $1.76 million.

Height, a 6-foot-3, 239-pound pass rusher, enters a 49ers defensive line room that is determined to revitalize its edge presence. After a challenging, injury-plagued season where the defense struggled to generate consistent pressure, adding explosive depth was a clear offseason priority for general manager John Lynch. Height will join Nick Bosa and 2025 first-round pick Mykell Williams, both of whom are recovering from season-ending ACL injuries.

The 25-year-old rookie brings an extensive, well-traveled collegiate resume to Santa Clara. Over a six-year college career that included stints at Auburn, USC, and Georgia Tech, Height saved his absolute best for last after transferring to Texas Tech. During his 2025 breakout campaign with the Red Raiders, he started all 14 games, racking up 38 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and a team-high 9.5 sacks on his way to earning First-Team All-Big 12 honors.

With his rookie contract officially signed and the paperwork out of the way, Height can shift his entire focus toward training camp, where he will look to translate his collegiate pass-rushing production into the 49ers' rotation.
