Keiton Jones (b. May 24, 2007) is a transfer offensive lineman from Missouri who is majoring in agriculture economics. I am projecting him to battle with freshman Oliver Miller as our primary backup to Tanner Morley.
Jones retained his redshirt in 2025 and saw action on four offensive snaps each in two games (Louisiana and UMass) during his true freshman season at Mizzou, where he played alongside current K-State wide receiver Josh Manning.
He lettered two years at Independence (Kan.) High School under head coaches John Black and Robert Henderson before playing his final two prep seasons under head coach Deonta Wade at Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville (an hour or so east of jtarkman’s and my old stomping grounds), where he was regarded as the 26th-best interior offensive lineman in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports, while he was ranked No. 35 by On3.
247Sports listed Jones as the sixth-best overall prospect in the state of Kansas and Rivals ranked him No. 7.
He earned first-team all-state honors as a senior from The Wichita Eagle, Sports in Kansas, the Kansas Football Coaches Association and KSHSAA Covered.
Jones also picked up all-state accolades as a junior from the Eagle, Sports in Kansas and KSHSAA Covered; participated in the Navy All-American Bowl; and was a two-time state powerlifting champion with a max squat of 650 pounds (a number he very nearly matched again this winter, setting a position group record of 605 pounds).
“That’s a lot of weight,” head coach Collin Klein said during his initial spring press conference.
“There’s not one thing that goes into that. Those guys went out, put their nose down, and got it done. I’m very proud of them. Coach (Jeremy) Jacobs and his staff have done a great job, and our players have done a really, really good job of attacking that out-of-season program, and it’s positioned us very well for spring.”
Jones originally committed to Missouri over offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Houston, Hutchinson Community College, Illinois, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Penn State (PSU), Pittsburg State, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Tulsa and USC, as well as interest from Iowa State, Nebraska and Oklahoma. K-State was able to nab him the second time despite interest from Oregon and PSU.
