Are you worried by Barcelona’s lack of defensive signings so far this summer?

Barcelona’s focus in the summer transfer window so far has been on attackers. Anthony Gordon has signed from Newcastle, Karim Adeyemi is expected shortly from Dortmund and Julian Alvarez is the club’s top target.

Meanwhile, there has been very little talk of defensive additions recently. Alessandro Bastoni was heavily linked with a transfer to Barca before the summer but that move appears to be off.

Barcelona have also been linked with several other defenders but there’s no indication currently that the club are about to strengthen the backline despite questions being raised about Hansi Flick’s defence last season.

The Catalans are hoping to at least complete a permanent transfer for Joao Cancelo before the season starts, but it remains to be seen if the club will invest in a top-level center-back.
