Arkansas coach Ryan Silverfield hails Quincy Rhodes Jr's Potential

Arkansas DE Quincy Rhodes JR. is an elite level talent who decided to come back to school, instead of declaring for the NFL Draft. He’s a considered to be among the top defensive players in the SEC. He's currently regarded to be a late first round, or early second round prospect, but he could become even better this season.

One wonders just how much better he could potentially be in 2026. Having Rhodes come back to Fayetteville is absolutely huge for the Razorbacks this upcoming fall. 

At SEC Media Days, Arkansas head coach Ryan Silverfield discussed the development of Quincy Rhodes.

"He’s a guy that I’ve known since his junior year in high school," Silverfield said during his time on dais. 

"In fact, we pulled up an old photo of us when he got his offer, and I think he was 220 pounds at the time. Doesn’t even look the same.

"Obviously exciting, but we know the type of player he is, but he’s still scratching the surface. That’s one thing about Quincy that I love is he knows that he has more upside.

"So we’re continuing to push him."

If you're an edge rusher, there's a ton of money to be made, potentially, in the National Football League. Of course, you have to be among the elite at the position in order to get that lucrative contract. Rhodes has the ambition to work hard and move up the charts. 

How much he's developed his body already is a great testament to that. And the Arkansas coaching staff will do everything they can to help Rhodes realize his potential.

"His body has already changed in the short time with our new strength and conditioning staff," Silverfield added.

"We’re seeing him take steps in the right direction in a leadership role. We’re going to continue to push him.
