Arsenal have signed Lisa Baum from RB Leipzig, with the 19-year-old winger becoming the fifth women’s signing of the summer so far.
Baum joins after making 26 appearances and scoring six goals during her only season with RB Leipzig. Before that, she made 68 appearances and scored 21 goals for Hamburger SV, earning her move to the Bundesliga club in the summer of 2025.
At international level, Baum has represented Germany from Under-17 through to Under-23 level.
She will wear the No 19 shirt, vacated by Caitlin Foord.
A left-footed winger who usually operates on the right, Baum brings pace, the ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations and a strong shot from distance.
Her arrival gives Arsenal four recognised wide forwards alongside Olivia Smith, Chloe Kelly and Foord, who recently signed a new deal at the club.
“I’m so happy to join Arsenal and I can’t wait to get started,” said Baum. “This league is so competitive and Arsenal is a big club, so I’m excited to challenge myself and compete with the best.
“I want to win trophies and develop my game, and Arsenal feels like the perfect match to achieve that.”
Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “We’re delighted to complete the signing of Lisa. One of the most highly rated young wingers in Europe, Lisa has a high ceiling and we feel this is the perfect place for her to develop and thrive.
“We look forward to watching her journey here with us at Arsenal.”

Head coach Renée Slegers said: “Lisa is a young wide forward who will bring direct intent and athleticism to our attacking group. At 19, she is still developing and we believe she has huge potential, which we will support her to achieve.
“We welcome her to Arsenal and look forward to the road ahead together.”
As mentioned, Baum is Arsenal’s fifth signing of the transfer window, reflecting the club’s focus on succession planning and lowering the average age of the squad.
Her arrival also increases competition in the wide areas. Arsenal now have four senior wingers, although with three competitions this season, the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the Barclays WSL and the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, there should still be enough opportunities to rotate while competing for silverware.
The squad currently contains 32 players under professional contract, made up of two goalkeepers, 11 defenders, eight midfielders and 11 forwards.
If Arsenal add further signings, particularly at centre back, in goal or on the wing, departures or loan moves are likely to be needed while maintaining the required number of homegrown players under UEFA Women’s Champions League and Barclays WSL regulations.
